Artist Michael Tickner ( www.michaeltickner.com ) opened his 'open studio' in 1988 in the Village of Lions Bay, just 10 mins north of West Vancouver on the Sea to Sky highway to Whistler. Michael along with his wife Alice established The Lions Bay Art Gallery ( www.lionsbayartgllery.com ) in the same space in 2001. Writing provenance, subsequent to a request from a collector in Toronto,. Michael decided in 2012 to mark the 25th. anniversary of his contemporary primitive style, by writing poetry or free verse as provenance for his originals. Michael continues to enjoy creative writing with his original paintings and can often be found painting and writing in the gallery, which is open seven days a week.
