Media & Fanmail

Galleries West magazine is appreciative of recognition from readers and from other media.

SPRING 2015 issue

good morning: I have been reading about Douglas coupland and the Simpson-Mathews prints.

I now realize that they were probably my first introduction to Canadian Art, probably had never seen any other back there in l945. I remember these prints and look forward to seeing the book that has been published, also that they may come to the O.A.G in Toronto.

I should email the "whoever" at the magazine and say it is one of most interesting to me , since I started receiving it.  Lots of good information.

Another great article in the Galleries West is on San Miguel.  After spending a month there last year it was interesting to read about it.  When I went on a tour of the city the lady talked about the U.S. ex-soldiers coming there and their wild parties and I saw one of the buildings the article talked about.

I might not get anything done just reading the magazine.  I pass it on to my friend Nancy when I am finished with it.

Was surprised to read in Galleries West (Spring 2015) about Toller Cranston living in San Miguel, Mexico ...only to find out minutes ago he died of a heart attack yesterday. (Didn't know Cranston was born in Hamilton-1949). Anyways, thanks for renewing the mag.

I can't believe it, just read another article in Galleries West on Graeme Patterson.  I recognized the name but didn't connect it.

His Secret Citadel was here at our Art G. last year and we heard him talk about how it came about. He was interesting and so is his work.

I also enjoy reading about the auctions, can't believe the money for those Art Works.

This sure has been a great magazine.

I think you do a super job of reporting facts while expressing your opinion though you never come across as hyper-critical (these aren't exhibitions after all -they're auctions!) or worse still sycophantic. I imagine this isn't always easy.  You hit the mark with this article as you have done so many times before. Thanks, Doug. Appreciate the thought that must go into this.
